Great old-timer oyster bar. But they need more variety on the menu.
They made me feel like I was at my family clam bake (but oysters). I felt like I wasn't a customer but a family member. I knew I was at a special place when I saw the place mat. All the employee's pictures and names are on it. There was no calling your server "sir" or "Mam". I called them Alan and Bobby. A "southern" must! Oh yeah, from someone who never had an oyster......They are great! The shrimp and scallops were very good. If I am within 1 hour of this location again, I will definitely make it a point to stop in and see my new family.
First of First. Opens at 5:30 get there at five or your going to have to wait for 30 min. to an hour. Arrive later and wait possibly less. Ordered dozen raw and shucker who was shucking for me and three other people. Shucked one at a time and put in a bowl they had placed in front of you. No dozen on the half shell. Raw and steamed oysters good. Spicy steamed scallops great. Learned after paying tab steam shrimp already pealed. Will be back for those for sure.
Best oysters east of San Francisco. Staff is awesome.
A true oyster bar, the shucker, shucks right in front of you. They only serve steamed seafood. Nothing is fried. There is a wait, it is expensive, BUT the food is fabulous and cooked perfectly. It was a very fun experience! A great place to bring guests from out of town who want great seafood and a new experience. Highly recommend. Don't let the outside of building fool you.
